Positive Displacement Pumps

Hygienic lobe pump systems that transfer high-viscosity fluids such as honey, chocolate, tomato paste and cosmetics without crushing or damaging their cellular structure.

Precise & Gentle Transfer

The high-speed impellers of centrifugal pumps damage dense products like honey or chocolate. Our positive displacement (lobe) pumps transport the fluid in large chambers through stainless steel lobes rotating at very low speeds without contact. The cellular integrity (particle, consistency) of the product is never compromised. Even the densest products up to 100,000 cP viscosity can be pumped at constant high pressure.

* As viscosity increases, the pump speed must be reduced. Gearbox selection is calculated by our engineers based on the specific product to be transferred (tomato paste, honey, glucose, etc.).

Positive Displacement FAQ

Are lobe pumps suitable for CIP (Clean-in-Place) cleaning?

Yes, as they are designed to meet food and pharmaceutical industry standards (EHEDG and 3A), they can be cleaned excellently with hot water and caustic through the pipeline.

How do you prevent freezing during chocolate transfer?

Chocolate and vegetable oils tend to solidify at room temperature. By adding a jacket option to the front cover of our lobe pumps and circulating hot water through it, we guarantee that the product remains liquid.

Why can't centrifugal pumps handle honey?

The impellers of centrifugal pumps rotate at high speed. When a high-viscosity fluid like honey hits the impeller, it creates great resistance that can burn the motor or damage the molecular structure (crystallization) of the product. Lobe pumps overcome this density with low RPM and high torque.
