Agitated Tanks

Agitated Tanks

Product and process-specific industrial mixers that flawlessly combine liquid-liquid or liquid-solid mixtures of varying viscosities.

Fluid Mechanics and Agitator Technology

The efficiency of agitated tanks depends on the Agitator (Blade) design, which is selected according to the viscosity and density of the product to be mixed. While Propeller type blades create rapid circulation in low-viscosity liquids; Anchor and Scraper blades provide a homogeneous mixture by preventing high-viscosity and sticky products from clinging to the tank wall. By integrating baffles inside the tank when necessary, vortex formation is prevented, minimizing mixing time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a Baffle do?

In fast mixing processes, it prevents the liquid from swirling inside the tank and forming a vortex. The baffle disrupts the flow direction of the liquid, allowing it to mix vertically and reducing processing time by up to 40%.

Why is a scraper agitator preferred?

Especially in heated jacketed tanks, Teflon scraper blades are mandatory to prevent dense fluids (such as tomato paste or cosmetic creams) from sticking to the heated wall and burning or caramelizing.
