Chemical and Acid Tanks

Zero tolerance engineering for maximum hazard class. Heavy-duty storage systems up to 150 tons, fully resistant to corrosion and pressure.

Aggressive Corrosion Control

Sulfuric acid, nitric acid, caustic, or explosive solvents... Fluids in the chemical industry can melt ordinary steel in days, leading to disaster. Welltech® applies API 650 and EN 14015 standards in chemical storage projects. Depending on the aggressiveness of the chemical, we ensure the mechanical integrity of the tank using AISI 316L, AISI 316Ti (Titanium alloy), or Hastelloy. Our project design ranges from 1,000 liters to 150,000 liters (150 Tons) mega tanks.

Chemical Storage FAQ

What are NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) Welding Tests?

In hazardous chemical tanks, an invisible weld gap can cause an explosion. By applying RT (X-Ray) and PT (Liquid Penetrant) tests to weld seams during production, we prove that there are not even microscopic cracks.

Which stainless steel should I choose for which acid?

For oxidizing acids like Nitric acid, AISI 304L may be suitable. However, if Sulfuric acid or Phosphoric acid is to be stored, AISI 316L, 316Ti containing Molybdenum, or Hastelloy superalloy must be used depending on the situation.
